MEET OUR MED-PEDS LEAD HOSPITALIST
Jesse Hennum, MD
Dr. Hennum is currently lead physician for the Internal Medicine and Pediatrics division of the ANW Hospitalist service.
Dr. Hennum was born and raised just a few miles away from Abbott Northwestern Hospital in south Minneapolis and is a proud graduate of Minneapolis Washburn High School. After obtaining an undergraduate degree in political science from Northwestern University, he returned to Minneapolis to complete medical school and residency. He has worked as a ANW Hospitalist group Med-Peds Hospitalist since 2008, at Abbott Northwestern, Children’s of Minnesota, Gillette Children’s Hospital and United Hospital. He served as chair of the Allina Health system’s Pediatrics Care Council from 2014-2022 – a group that oversees policies, procedures, and quality in the newborn units of Allina hospitals.

Dr. Hennum has volunteered as a pediatrician and internist on medical mission trips to Liberia, Ethiopia, Vietnam, and Bangladesh. He is a married father of three boys, a resident of St Paul, and the current president of the board of Lexington Hamline Community Council, a 50 + year old neighborhood advocacy non-profit in St Paul. He loves spending time outdoors and traveling.
